What should I do with my money?

So first, thanks to all of the guys here on the forum for encouraging me, I made 1K with a few days! All together I now have 2k worth of savings! I got this all scrapping Pc's, laptops and etc.

So here's my question(s): What should I do with my money in order to make more (something that's more reliable instead of cold calling PC shops)
    2) if I get more Pc's in the future is there a better way to make money from them aside from taking it to a scrap yard?

I'm going to say that my opinion is computers are the way for you to go. But that's my opinion and it's your money. Computers don't require a big truck or great strength to move/break down.

How to obtain computers - as others said, read the forums. I remember reading in the past few weeks:
    - ideas on how to find computers
    - a success story on building a relationship with a computer store and the score that turned out from that
    - a success story from a clean out of a news station
    - a success story of buying computers at an auction

How to make money from them? There's many, many ways to break them down, and different levels of how far you go. You have to decide what works best for you. Again, lots of threads on here. And who do you sell what parts to...covered on here.

In my experience, breaking down the computers is easy. Selling parts for more than scrap is a little harder, but gives bigger rewards. The hard part is getting computers to scrap at a price that allows for profit.

So....if you were able to double your money in a few days with computers, why do you share your specifics? How did you get the computers, what was the cost, what did you do with them, where did you cash in....share your success story! You might get specific suggestions if you offer more information.

If your comfortable with working on computers a little bit go for a little newer stuff and try to re-sell.........Either way I agree that computers and electronics is probably the way to go......Take a little of that money and do some advertising.......Biz cards, Flyers, Craigslist, etc......................Good luck!

If you made a thousand dollars in a few days, maybe you can enlighten the SMF community on how to do the same.

If you can keep your hands off the stash of money I recommend you may want to hold on to it. Keep looking for more stuff to scrap and in case you get a bigger deal pop up you have the money. In case of a break down you will be able to get the repair without pulling out a credit card. Last but not least you can pay off a bill or two. I am happy you have gain success and taking the time to think about what to do with you money. Mike.

That's not saying a lot about Dodge quality. I put a half million miles on a Chevy dually in 6 years with no major breakdowns, just normal maintenance. And a diesel wanna-be to boot.

Nono i mean aftermarket/performance stuff lol. All domestic trucks have their good and bad qualities. We have done motors/trannys/rear ends in all the big 3 makes. Really all comes down to maintenance.

Scrapping will never be reliable (like a 40 hr a week normal job) until you get big enough for people to bring their stuff in to you instead of you hunting them. Until then you need to keep looking for more items to scrap and spend a bunch of time researching (never ending always changing region and economics dependant) what you can sell instead of scrap for more profit. Also don't do something stupid and rack up debt. You are better off paying off a 17% credit card (for example) then keeping money in a bank account that pays you under 1%.

I always tally up my profits at the end of the month and put 50% of what i made into the account for scrap purchases. The other 50% gets divided about 8 different and goes to various savings funds.

The 50% i keep every month also pays for my gas, tools, etc.

I started scrapping as a way to supplement my income, hopefully to the point where scrapping pays all of my bills, fattens my savings, and maybe allows for new purchases. That way my normal paycheck gets banked and not touched at all.

Got a long way to go to reach all of my goals but so far we are up to paying for the wife's car payment, all our gas expenses, my family's monthly "goiing out" fund, and a utility bill here and there all with scrap money.

What to do with your money just depends on your situation and what your long term goals are. Absolutely save some of it. Scrappin' ain't easy, I would hate to see it all blown on things you can't account for.

would it weird if i didn't pipe in here?

you must be a single man if you have 2 grand and not sure what to do with it. if i had two grand my ol lady would be telling me what to do with it pretty quick. I'd be dropping my girls off at the mall wishing i kept my mouth shut
