sure but either way you got to hand pick and separate copper from plastic some are very intertwined and some have some metal with it . I think your ideas ok to get at the main yoke but what about all the surrounding copper that will not just pop out.

But here's and idea for under $300 even less if used - get a cement mixer put in some yokes & put in some large iregular shape rocks put mixer on let rocks do the work

That would be a poor mans ball mill. And you still have to pick out the ferrite, unless you have a large magnet.
