    I had a 50KVA generator part in my hands once, didn't get a $ value on it.
    The guy (valuer) told me they are worth lots as they are used in 'backup generation' often so they don't get much work & so therefore they don't want to spend much money on a brand new one.

    The looks are irrelevant, as long as it works & has the exciter etc included, they hook up a test meter to it, check the resistance, check the bearings, check the brushes & contacts & if thats alright, you might as well have a brand new one in your hands.....

    Yea do your homework, I sold a Cummings KT 450 for $12,000.00, which the guy never fired just pulled the pan the check the crankshaft one he was satisfied cut me a check.
