but we have several ohaus NTEP legal for trade scales in our plant. These have to be recertified annually or else buying scrap over the scale is illegal.

You can pick one of these up (4x4) new around $1,200+shipping. Ohaus also sells refurbished equipment on their site. I had seen one of these scales for sale on there for around 700.

Do some due diligence on ebay. You can get a scale for 600-700 delivered. NTEP approved. Still has to be re-certified every year. Free shipping helps also, consider that in your purchase. A 2x2 is good for weighing small containers like 55 gallon drums, a 4x4 scale is great for anything on a pallet.
