I have about the same setup BUT I put the 2X6's inside of the supports
So when I go around a corner and a heavy item tries to escape, The 2X support keeps it in place
With your design only the screws/nails keep that board (and heavy item) from pushing the boards off the 2X upright

In theory >> All you have to do is move the right side to the left
AND the left side to the right

Might be easier then swapping the boards from the outside to the inside

i end up replacing mine every other months at first i did them about cab height like yours now i have them about 2 feet over the cab.

wow that looks awesome mine looks always like crap since I use wood I find people throw out or construction site dumps but the frig grate I do use too
