For example, if something routinely sells for $25, I am looking to spend $10 max, and hopefully more like $5.

My time is the least of it, it seems. Ebay fees, PayPal fees, shipping supplies, fuel spent on post office runs....when its all said and done I am happy if (1.) my buyer freaking pays (no negative feedback for buyers anymore??!! WTF is that?!) (2.) I have enough left to buy a pizza, a six pack, gasoline, or any combination of these things after everyone gets their slice of my pie.

I can't complain, though; I sell a lot of stuff I get for free and the money has paid many a bill and bought many groceries in the past six months or so. Have been an eBayer since 1999, but really ramped up the regular sales more recently.
Congrats on taking control of your financials. Like I just mentioned in another thread, it is not always happy times, and I am sure you can agree, but nothing beats it.

Where do you get most of the stuff you sell? Just by scrapper, or do you do junk cleanouts too?
