    Catalytic Converter folks

It is from a 1991 Chevy Blazer and weighs almost 18 pounds even. Does anyone have an idea on what it's worth?

Good link, but I think it is a $50 cat.

Someone correct me... Do you have to make sure the comb is still in it before selling it?

I don't know how much is worth but I'm sure I'll probably get about $60 at the yard that I go to, Another thing I wouldn't trust that site so much I tried to sending them a text message the other day and they never responded back as a matter of fact I've tried twice.

I tried messaging Arcoa twice with no luck, but luckily George the pres. saw me post something about it here and contacted me personally, so maybe there's something wrong with their messaging system. You might give them the benefit of the doubt.

Thats a bead style cat. Shake it back and forth a bit. Does it sound like little BB's are rolling around inside? If so, then is worth money, if not then it's a tin can. Came across a few of these that were empty before. It's the BB's inside that are what you are after.

Yeah that is a old gm bead type converter they aren't worth alot and are based in price by how much stuff is in them.Turn is from side to side and it should sound like sand in it.If it sounds like it has alot then thats good if not then just thro it away because it is worthless.

Also on that site not bad i guess but they are cracked out lol

At home sick today so reading through some older threads. On these bead cats, the best way to check to see if there's anything left inside is to take something and poke a small hole into the plug. I myself use the pointy end of a welder's chipping hammer, or you can use a hammer and screwdriver/chisel, whatever. Just don't take the whole plug out or you'll lose whatever is left inside. Once you've got your small (like 1/4" or so) hole in the plug, you'll be able to see if there's any beads left inside. They either look like bb's, or like a thick pencil lead cut into short little pieces. The "shake it and listen for the rattle" idea doesn't always work, especially when one is all carboned up and the beads stick together.
