I would try "tools, auto-parts, and farm+garden" for starters. This one just kinda fell in my lap. It belongs to the neighbor of my sons girlfriend. My son was talking to her one day and telling her what we do and well, the rest is history. Or it will be when we get this behemoth outta there.

Can you back your trailer up to it and winch it on using some steel pipes under it that you keep moving from front to back as it rolls up the trailer?

What you're looking for is a "service box/bed"

There's one in the background. I bet it's for sale or they could get you one.

That was my original plan exactly! And I may still go that way if my buddy doesn't show.

Awesome! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Will something like that fit on a standard pickup truck? Or am I going to need to take a different route?
Yeah that's great and all...but...CAN I SCRAP IT!?

    - Super Light Weight.
The finished utility bed weighs less than 500 lbs.(compared to 1,300+ lbs for a steel bed the same size).
    Their quoting an alum bed.

Prolly your best bet is to measure what you have now, then compare it to the service box. I am assuming you have a full size.

My (wild) guess would be not a lot more than 1200-1250. Remember that if it was mounted on a 3/4 ton chassis, for instance, you'd already be overweight with no tools in it if it weighed a ton...

Just checked manufactures tag on my truck.

From the factory the truck was 2906 pounds with original truck bed I will assume.
The scale house puts the truck at 5280 on avg.

That comes out to 2374 pounds difference the original bed and utility.
Taking into account all my fishing gear, oh and some tools about 200 pounds.
    = That sucker is heavy!

With all the rust mine is getting lighter with every pothole!

"contractor bed" "utility bed" or "service bed" usually work for me

I'm guessing around 15-1800 lbs. The big 10' beds like on an F450 are closer to a ton, but this looks like its for a single rear wheel 3/4 or one ton truck.

Cleaned up with good lights and keys for the locks it would probably retail for 5-700?

NO! He has to scrap it now, just so we all get to find out what it weighs.

Personally screw the chain fall. Hire a wrecker driver for a hour. Have him winch it up with a sling or even a piece of channel underneath it. Then back under and go. The a frame and chain fall is way to much work to drag over, set up, etc. I see it as 2500lbs. Probally looking at 300 usd or better for it as scrap. So worth it to to pay a driver 75. Best thing is find a driver on call or lunch time. Offer him 50. He should do it off the clock and your set.... Oh and make sure you use chains and binders to secure not straps. DOT see you without at least two 3/8 chains and binders, then you got a hefty fine.Wont be worth it then. I speak from experience.
