Computer Boards

So i've been tearing apart computers for about a week now and i've got most of it down, as far as knowing what to take in. Only thing i'm not sure on is telling the difference between a highgrade board and a lowgrade? I know the motherboard is highgrade, just not sure on what else is. Are graphics cards considered highgrade as well, or do they sell as something else?

All boards in a computer is motherboard grade or higher.
This is one buyers example;

Motherboard Grade $4.15 per pound
Gold Finger Cards (PCI,ISA,etc...) $4.15 per pound
Fingerless (trimmed) Cards (PCI,ISA,etc...) $3.60 per pound
Telecom High Grade $4.60 per pound
Mid Grade Green Board $0.40 per pound
Low Grade Brown Board $0.12 per pound
High Grade Cable Board $2.50 per pound
Mid Grade Cable Board $1.50 per pound
Gold Tip Connector Ends (Click to see examples) $2.00 per pound
Gold/Silver/Tin Fingered Memory RAM $14.50 per pound
Fingerless (trimmed) Memory RAM $7.00 per pound
RAMBUS (metal cover) RAM $7.00 per pound
Slot Processors $11.50 per pound
Fingerless (trimmed) Slot Processors $6.00 per pound

Really? Even the ethernet port boards that you can just pull out are motherboard grade? And im assuming the big boards in CRT monitors are just low grade boards?

Monitor/Tv/Vcr/Stereo/ Etc.etc. Yes,yes,yes, Now boards out of cable boxes and satellite dish receivers are also hi grade. This might help some,,,

We actually pay slightly more for the finger cards (PCI, ISA, etc)... you primarily find low grade boards in CRT containing devices.

We will pay better for PCI as well. But if you go snapping the fingers off you kill the worth of the board.

I know right....people dont think you kill the worth of the board when you go removing the BIG strip of gold....use your head and think for a few. lol

Sometimes the remaining board after you cut off the strip is bigger and has more ic's and other valuable items than small boards with no "finger" to begin with

I saw a different, earlier post about gamecube memory cards. I got a hold of some playstation 2 memory cards, took the two tiny screws out, and it was just a small board. It's green on both sides, but only one side has the gold fingers. Thinking this is mid grade?

Green on both sides with gold fingers I'm tossing into my high grade pile.

Im confused. My local yard pays a different rate for motherboards, high grade, low grade and has a different rate for colored motherboards and pci boards? I need some educating on this as Im all in on this business. I have stooped working for someone else because there is a high demand for my recycling service in Colorado. I pay a small finders fee to anyone locally that gets me dead towers and peripherals...Im starting to not take anymore CRT's because the copper isnt worth the hastle

I think you'll find mobo's with a socket 2" or larger (or a slot type) to be higher grade, sockets smaller than 2" a mid grade, and very colorful newer boards low. Just my take on the deal, you'll have to discuss this with buyers though

I recommend you not sell boards to your local yard untill you have read a lot more of the electronics section of this forum and reviewed what the buyers here are paying. Mike.

so mechanic i have ? if you came across 4000-6000 lbs of mother boards that some one wants you to sell for them woulld you drive them from nc to ohio to that place cash for com scrap or what would you do right now hes only making 2.80lb right now need guidance thanks so much
