Aluminium 6063 Extrusion Scrap

Hi

I am a first timer when it comes to buying aluminium scrap.

I am looking at various countries from where I can import Aluminium 6063 Extrusion scrap.

I have found surprisingly low prices in Malaysia. As low as 1050 USD/MT CIF.
They require 20% advance and yard visit not possible before paying advance, they say its a scrap union thing. Anyone have experience of this?

Am I being duped? What are the precautions I can take to keep from getting cheated?

Is this price possible?

Where are you? It would help if you'd go to the Introduction section and let us know something about you. If you're making an offer to buy aluminum, there is another section for that.

I just posted in the Introduction section.

I guess the last line of the post does make it look like an offer to buy. I basically wanted to check whether the prices being offered to me are even remotely possible.

Hello Sid and welcome. I wish you luck in your ventures in the U.S. and I hope you find this forum helpful to you. I have always wanted to visit your country. I had a professor in college who lived there for 20 yrs. and she introduced me to Indian food. I found it delicious and have often cooked it myself. Sid, have you ever heard of the nigerian internet scam? if not, google it because it starts off just like you described your deal. international law makes it basically impossible to file any sort of claim against a lost deposit. good luck with your ventures, though!

Hi

Seemed like a too good to be true deal. I have passed on it.
I am now looking to work with a scrap yard either in the US or Canada. Heard that the prices are lower and conditions easier to work with.

Anyone have a source to find Aluminium Extrusion 6063 scrap sellers in US or Canada?
