The yard around here doesn't accept plug "bricks" at all.
As far as plastic - I haven't taken in pure shred in a while, so can't tell ya. I do know the operators are a bit picky about water heaters, radiators, pre-smashed cars and appliances ( some folks tried to rip them off in the past ) .
