3 things to know about these types of property
1) check to see if there are any liens against the property.
2) the vehicles, yhe dmv or local sherriffs ofice can provide you with last owners info to check if they were reported stolen.
3) be sure to check with DEQ, to see if the property was cited for contamination, if it was it will be your responsibility to strip the contaminated soil(36" in louisiana) and replace with new soil. This may be the reason they would let it go so cheap

If you go back and read Hipo's post, it went for considerably more than the going rate.
