OH TVs....your like a bed bug or a roach, out there hidden away. Never truly gone.

You've been given some good advice in regards to TVs. Leaving the carcass behind smacks of disrespect for the enviroment, your fellow scrappers, your fellow citizens of your town/county/cave/hideyhole/etc, their pets, local wild life an I'm sure I could think of several other things. It's not cool. As another said...if your going to take it, take it all. Don't cherry pick. To hell with the cops bothering you, what about your own safety? Hit by a car(side of road), robbed, beaten, other unfun things. It happens..all over. An what happens if you have an accident? Slice a finger off in the middle of a field? Set your self on fire torching a car on a cliff(That is kind of cool tho..the dismantling of a car on a cliff..not setting oneself on fire..nevermind.)

Check your local government websites. Your city/county should have something on there in regards to what can an can't be dumped. If you can't find the answer you seek..do it the old school way. Pick up the phone, call multiple till you get the right department an ask your questions. Here on my sandbar at one time it was considered the same as hazard waste/building materials. You needed a permit, an a buncha other crap. They changed it a few years back to where tvs are just normal trash.

I started with tvs. Still do them at times, but as Mike an others said...my time is limited. So tvs take a backseat priority compared to cell phones, computers, etc. Someone has to do it tho. An that someone should make sure they do it the best they can and legal as they can. Nobody wants a fine for 5000 tube tvs. Just do it the right way..dispose of them properly an take your trash with you if you are doing it outside of your own property.

    Your welcome for the novel.

For the "it was to long, I didn't read" crowd...Do it right or don't do it. You can profit in tvs but you have to jump through a lot of red tape at times in order to do so. It's not for everyone.

Good luck, an for the love of goats don't leave the **** glass laying around! (See past rants located in the archives)
