I sell all of my pallets to one company. The company name is IFCO Pallet Systems. They have several locations around the USA. One thing to be aware of is this. The company I sell to will only pay you for a certain type of pallet. That is a 48" x 40" 4 way. That means that the pallet is 48" long, 40" wide and can be picked up by a
forklift on all four sides. Make sure to find your buyer before you ever pick up your first pallet. That way, you can know what type and grade they will pay you for. Some pallet buyers buy them strictly for shredding into small bits, either for making paper or a cheap mulch used for a filler on high priced mulch. IF you can find a buyer or a couple of buyers that will buy both types (re-sell and shred) you can really make some money.
My last load to go to IFCO got me $2.90 per pallet for resell. The guy I know that buys shredding pallets only gives me $1 each, but he will take any condition and\or any type.
I hope this helps to answer your questions.
PS: Do a Google search for "Selling Wooden Shipping Pallets (in your area)" You will be surprised at how many options you have around the country.
