    Depends on the engine. I tore an engine down a week ago, but hard saying if it's worth it. I haven't taken it in yet.



    I'd pull everything that's aluminum off the mower. Deck is probably steel. Engine is likely aluminum, but you won't be able to get all of the iron out of it, (cylinder liner for one) so they will probably mark it as dirty. My yard does anyways.

    Fuel tank had some brass fittings on it so I pulled those. All in all not much there, but it adds up in my pile.

    Carburetor is likely to be aluminum with brass jets inside.

    It's been awhile since I tore down a weed eater, but I think that would be an aluminum block as well, with an iron liner.

    You have to decide if it's worth your time. I do it because I am out of work, and scrap is slow now.
