Heck even if you can't find a local buyer, a couple minutes yanking off a few CBMs, the flyback, an few other items, an you just made more then .28lb.
Yard price for shred - 0.9
Yard price for CBM - .25
yard price for Alum - .50
total - - .84
Your yard may pay more or less of course for things. Mine pays decent I think for the parts I remove. So I continue to remove them from low grades, once that's done in to shred it goes. An it takes all of a couple minutes to hit a board for the good stuff. A pair of channel locks will make it go even faster. Nice thing about stripping low grade..dun matter if ya break it!
This is how it works for me, so maybe it's a good thing I don't have a local buyer..lol. They'd likely want me to keep all the crap on it. In the past I've said I wanted a local buyer for them. I've changed my mind now that i actually broke it down an looked it over, vs what I get total from my yard, on a low grade.
