I run a 20' tandem car hauler with around 8 tons, and a 36' semi dump trailer usually around 30 tons, and they don't move at those prices.. You'll see people on these forums, or driving minivans and crossovers at the yards that you just know don't realize they have little to no profit margin no matter how much they process; I guess it makes sense if you're retired or have everything paid off and just need small fun money....
I'm just glad I have options that pay more.... It usually takes an estate clear-off for me to even do a run these days...
I was just sitting here thinking about my trip to the yard today to get rid of about 800-1000 pounds of PC cases and other shred. Not really looking forward to the trip. I would prefer someone local stop by my house and I would give it to them. I'm only interested in the circuit boards and other parts that can be sold for better than
scrap prices.
