    Converter prices up or down?

I was just wondering from people that do this alot if converter prices have went up or down in the last 4 years? I sold a bunch about 3 years ago but just found about 20 that where in a storage building out back. The price they estimated me for them seems about the same as I got from another place before for the others.
And before anyone asks I have no intention of shipping them to anyone even for $500 each.

I would have to say cats probably go up and down with the market just like anything else right?

If that's the case, prices are going up around here.

    Sorry was talking about catalytic.
Sorry also about the shipping deal I would much rather sell them local to the places that have been taking the rest of the stuff from my junk yard rather than pay shipping to Texas and wonder if i'll get a check and if it's good. Just wondering what the prices are cause I sold everyone I knew I had of a few years ago and the prices seem about the same now. Like I say I only found like 20 on a shelf in the old parts room and I may have 20 more to pull so this isnt a make or break deal for me. Thanks guys

The problem is that your local yard will be half or less than you could get from a regular cat dealer by mailing them which will way more than offset shipping costs. Find a reputable dealer and go for it. I'm much more leery of a couple local's checks than the "big guys". They live and die by "Internet reputation"- literally. You could easily double the amount you get for them. Most of the dealers will gladly advise you on shipping.

40 cats??? Have you ID'd them all? That could be thousands of dollars.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

As far as shipping goes, a paypal account eliminates that check nonsense. You don't ship without the money in hand.

I am not advocating either way, just getting the best price for what you have is all.

Well man a junk yard wont pay anything for them.
The price has went down since when u are talking about,

Also with the shipping thing you can send them in get them graded then get paid by paypal.I do it like that all the time. You just have to find a honest person and such you know.

Just to clarify I dont sell to junk yards I own or owned a junk yard that held around 300 vehicles most the time the shop was open. I have been sell the cores and non ferous to a fairly large core buyer and gives me pretty good compared to other people I have riden with to take copper etc.
If you want to send me your location and or references and your price list i'll think about it. The core buyer we are using now sells straight to refinery I think, the car buyer sells straight to the shreader and from there is goes on a ship is what his son says. I have not found a better price in 200 miles so far.
All I was saying about shipping is just cause some yahoo working outa his lawnmower shead out back says they will pay $10 more than anyone else just send them to me and i'll get you a check right away dont mean i'm gonna rush out and get a pallet and start loading it up.
