    Thank you RLS0812 for your reply to our post and the link to your concern about these being a DOT class 8. These are mercury switch/relays and are totally enclosed, leakproof and in sealed metal or plastic units.
    We direct all providers to contact us for packing and shipping info before we provide our shipping address and we have them ship by ground. When shipped by ground they do not require special shipping and there is no legal trouble for shipping them.
    The link you provided https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/49/173.164 states;

    “§ 173.164 Mercury (metallic and articles containing mercury).


    (c) (1) …Mercury switches and relays are excepted from these packaging requirements, if they are totally enclosed, leakproof and in sealed metal or plastic units.”
