I have noticed the green & blue epoxy seal on the "Anode" side of silver/tantalum capacitors. Is this maybe a quick way to tell the difference between other axial type tantalum capacitors? Is there other colors to look for?

Yes, it is a good way to reference if you may have Silver/Tantalum Capacitors - But i will say that the majority of Silver Tantalum Capacitors do not have a green top.
I suggest paying attention to the rivet on the top end of the capacitor and the markings on the side of the capacitors.

I try to use a data sheet reference for my final conformation. Though it helps to use as many quick spot "shortcuts" as I can, in the initial hunt. Still like a kid at a "Easter Egg Hunt", but I'm learning, getting better at it and most of all having fun with it!
