I am proud to be a scrapper, and I hope to blend another business into the mix. My wife and I have started an online store featuring scrapper t-shirts. (scrappertshirts.com) We started with a simple design, “Keep calm and scrap on!” We will add new designs and products each week, and hope you’ll look in and give us some feedback and pointers.
scrappertshirt.com is not registered and still available for purchase.... are you sure you purchased this domain and set this up or are you just saying you plan to? Because anyone with $6.98 can buy that domain this very second.....
I do like scrapping, and am not ashamed of it at all....... but idk I enjoy it enough to need a shirt that says so, I already have a recycling sticker on my truck..... that probably says enough lol

I get it Greytruck. I do the same, but my County is so small and towns are so tiny that most people already know who I am and what I do. I’ve sold quite a few of my personal shirts locally s people get a kick out of some of the sayings on them.
I don't mind when people look down their noses at me... that's their issues, not mine. 6 days a week I drive around to 40-something houses a day & scoop dog poop in a truck that advertises the business rather loudly... while I'm at it, I find treasures to resell, scrap, re=use, whatever.
Next week, the missus and I are going to close on this lovely slice of exurbia northeast of DFW... we're doing alright, thank you very much! ;)
I really like the semi-detached garage for Sunday morning scrappin while the missus is still sleeping.

Every location is different. Is there any way you could break it up into one main living area and an apartment -or- apartments ? Rentals don't always go smoothly, but they are income producers when they're done right. They might even pay your mortgage for you. That's one of the strategies for owning a big place in this part of the country.
In the PA suburbs a house that size is about average sized. Maybe on the small side even. New houses around me mostly start at like 3000sqft and some of the really really nice neighborhoods have houses in the 6000-10,000sqft range. What is nice is the lot size! Around me most places are developments so it's a ton of mcmansions 10ft apart..... I was lucky to find a neighborhood with 1+ acre lots that was in my price range cause having land is getting harder and more expensive everydayQuote:

Our place is pretty modest. It's just a wee bit under 1,200 sqft with a full 8' basement. It was adequate for a family of four and a bit more than what we need now that the boys are grown and it's just my wife and myself.
We've got about 1 1/2 acres. Location is in one of the more desirable parts of town.
It varies here. The houses that are only used seasonally can run a bit big but the year round places are smaller and more energy efficient. The cost to build new runs around 500.00$/sqft and the minimum lot size is one acre.
My retirement strategy is to own everything outright within a few years. You don't really hit your stride till you're debt free.
We got a 2.75% loan rate. I fully expect for inflation to outpace the loan over the next several years, perhaps by a large margin if things go badly this November.Quote:

I have been thinking about taking out a mortgage on both of my places even though they are paid off just to invest the money. I have not had a mortgage for over 20 years and have to admit it is a great relief when you retire. My first mortgage was over 10% back in the early 80's. 2.75% seems like a no brainer, but the market might tank depending on the results of the election in November and what the Coronavirus does to our society.Quote:
