no keys, its probably empty but, I'm gonna have to torch it open I think. Sucker was HEAVY, took 3 of us to load it.
 That's totally awesome.
Can't find anything on google that says you can't...even found a youtube video of one at the scrap yard.
Just make sure there's no money stuck in it anywhere. I'd be going over that puppy with a fine tooth comb.
^^^ I know! I want to open that bottom part soooo bad! Got my vacation planned already lol!
Any idea how it got at the end of the road??
If I were you I would not of posted this here- potential stolen property
Reminds me of an episode of Breaking Bad where Spooge's old lady pushes the ATM crushing his head while he's trying to punch out the bottom......
I think your safe then...pun intended. ;)
We expect a break down of it posted NA! Don't let us down! All the pressure is on you!(No pressure I swear..just pictures..lots of them!)
NA sticky..how to break into an ATM..Legally. :p
Sirscrapalot - ATM on a sandbar, next to his cooler.
Cant get the dang bottom door off (safe part of it), gonna have to try a sawzall along the rivets if that don't work its torch time. And don't worry, I'll post pics of what came out of it for sure!
Wait wait..Attach it to your cooler, then drive around selling beverages! /happy dance
Or..torch it an share the pics. Either way works for me!
Sirscrapalot - Gets a discount at the No Ear Liquor store. ;)
Reminds me of some of the thefts where they hook onto one uptown and with their truck they tear it out of it's frame and drag it home.
HMMMMM >:)
Might be a good read, NA, CYA, (cover your a$$)

Hope it's stacked , if it is keep it to yourself . Wonder what the boards will look like .

You mean that? lol.
Let the video be above be a How Not to Scrap or obtain a ATM.
No it wasn't NA, this video was shot in San Diego.
Sirscrapalot - Youtube really does have it all!
I''ve been in the ATM business for many years now and have scrapped quite a few as they become obsolete or when they're damaged beyond repair from a robbery. Chances are, if you found it, it trashed and doesn't have any salvageable parts. There's a few high grade boards in it; especially inside the keypad. You might also find some stainless steel on the door and brass in the lock; other than that, you're looking at all shred. If there's money in it...well...let's hope you do the right thing.
Ummm, hellooooo!
Ever heard of dynamite?
As a former talk show host used to say "may the good Lord take a likin' to ya and blow ya up real soon"!
I just now saw the pic of the ATM. It's a Tidel IS 1000. An easy way to get in.....drill a 3/8" hole at the 3 o'clock position just to the right of the dial lock (imagine the dial being a clock and the drill point will be 1" to the right at 3 o'clock). Take a hole punch and a hammer and give it a few good licks. This will drive the bolt into the ATM and you'll be able to turn the handle. It takes about 5-10 minutes. When I would buy used ATMs, I'd sometimes have to do this if I didn't know the combo.
well...let's hope you do the right thing.
Keep it and never speak of it I'm assuming .
The wife said she didn't think it had anything in it and if it did well I'd be lucky. She was very nice about the whole thing because I told her my concerns about paperwork. I said if there was anything in it I'd bring it down to them.
I did find some old receipts which promptly went into the fire pit.
Here are all the boards I found in the top section so far. I'm thinking there might be more because there are more phone cables and a ribbon cable going through that section into the bottom part:

I know what he was implying , but how could you possibly find the correct owner . Am I supposed to report all the loose change I find in storage lockers ? If I found a id or a checkbook I would mail it back . But if I ever find cash well I have a handy carrying case in my wallet for that . The money that is turned in is pretty much a donation . What's that old saying about fools and money ?
^^I don't know how ATM's work, I'm still trying to get into this one. IF there were anything in the bottom section that has the dial/lock, that is what I was referring to.
I see gold on the ic chips to the right . Don't forget to turn that in lol
Drill a 3/8" hole 1" to the right of the dial at the 3 o'clock position. the bolt is located here. Take a hole punch, hit it a few times and turn the handle...it will open, I promise. Oh yeah, the box that the money is in is aluminum and it has a large mothetboard in the top of the vault. Send me a PM. I might be interested in buying the dispenser and cassette (the box that the money is in). Don't damage it trying to open it. To open the box, take two flat head screw drivers an put the in the slots at the bottom corners of the box.
^^To late, its toast. We did the drill thing one inch to the right and finally broke through after 6 battery changes but either we were off the mark or something. Ended up torching it open because I didn't want to damage my batteries with so many charges in such a short time, took over a half hour to get through the thick steel. thankfully, none of the boards left caught on fire, only the wiring that was in the bottom section which was otherwise empty. The vault contained a HUGE mouse nest, if there ever was anything in it its gone now!
That is some haul you have there, instead of using a saw-all on I would use a torch on the hinges.
Hey newattitude, there is a guy on youtube named Aussie50 who has some "autopsy" videos on taking a ATM apart in detail. You should check them out.
Here are the last of the boards that came out of the upper portion. Also 2 motors and one piece of extrusion which was on the larger board pictured. the power supply also had a board.
