Question on computer parts

I have a chance to get 30 towers today, and lots more from this company in the future. I'm just trying to figure out what I should be paying. These are all identical towers. He let me take one home to take apart, this is all I got out of it. I just want to figure out what I should be paying. I know the mother board is on the right, what are the two things on the left, is that the memory? Also, what is the cpu worth? On the back it reads Intel 84 Pentium.

Did the tower have a hard drive, cd drive, floppy drive, power supply?

If not then you shouldn't offer more that $3 each. If it did i wouldn't go higher than $5 each tower.

The longer sticks are ram the processor looks like a p4 pinless. They are worth on average of 54 cents for me.

The company destroys the Hard drive themsevles. No other drives.

Yep, that's only a $2.50-3.00 computer, I totally agree with them above, definitely not a 5.00 one. Their 5.00 fully loaded.

you can probly still sell those @ better than scrap value on ebay, like in lots of ten. List 10 and see what the price gets to, then pick a price near that and list with a buy-it-now. you might be pleasantly surprised, but who knows until you try. In lieu of static bags if i had to, i'd wrap memory in plain kitchen towels, even shipped them around the world like that with no complaints. You'll need to verify they're working though, or at least see that the computer boots up and registers them in the bios, meaning you'll need one test computer. Usually if you hit a bad one it'll beep and stop booting, unless you're testing several together, then check in setup that all have fully registered. That's probably about all you can do for testing

Also, if they destroy the hard drives, see if you can make a deal with them to remove the boards.

If you want to make a profit I would not pay more than 2 or 3.00 per tower on those. Was there any wire, fans, or power supply?

With no other drives and 256mb ram sticks I wouldnt pay more than $2 a computer for that.

Bought the 30 towers today, $3 dollars each. These ones seem to be a little more complete, power supplies anyway. I'm going to tear them apart on Tuesday and see what I end up with. Seems like I'll be getting 20-30 a month from the guy.

if the cpu's are a reasonable speed (3.0 Ghz Pentium 4 or better), and all the motherboards have 4 ram slots as the one pictured does i would take 4 stick of that 256mb ram and install it in a tower so you got 1GB of memory (pretty much the minimum for useable computing now days), throw a hard drive in it install Windows Xp or whatever OS it has a COA sticker for and throw them on craigslist for +/- $30 ea or $15-$20 without a hard drive if they POST good.

i have sold plenty this way to local computer Repair / Replace guys especially if you can get a lot of 10 or so at a time that work, then you can scrap the leftovers and make money on both sides.

and also i have to say that i personally would not mind paying a dollar or two more per tower if the guy comes through and can deliver a reliable stream of computers for you, even with only a motherboard, ram, and cpu, and power supply, i could still average $10 a tower, it just takes a little more time than just scrapping them with no testing. Also keep an eye out for DVD-R/W drives as systems that new could very well have a few.
