Is the yellow circuitry gold?

I am trying to post a picture.

Ok so the picture worked. So the gold colored circuitry, is that gold or just paint or something? Would this board be worth more that say a green colored circuit board?

Give it at quick scrape or grind. Most likely copper under the outer surface appearance.

That is a gold colored varnish to protect a board from corrosion. Looks like a large socket so a little more.

No it is not. It is a colored boards (they come in many colors actually). They are worth no more than a green one (in fact at one time people were paying less for those because it was believed they were a "cheaper" board and didn't have as much PM in them...that was not really true in many cases. Alot of colored boards (especially modern ones) are "enthusiast boards"...meaning they are for gamers, back in the day, overclockers, and people that just like to build custom machines. There are some really high end boards out there. Think of these as the same as the colored video cards...just a different color of plastic. Yes, it looks like a large socket, so will be worth more than small socket boards. Hard to tell, it might be an AMD board.

In any event, pull the battery and the AL heatsink and sent it off. Probably worth a couple of bucks.

Nutpie, if you do a search on here for lnb or fingercards (just a couple off the top of my head I know contain gold) boards you should pull up some that show gold. Once you see gold on a board you'll know it from then on.
