***Looking for ideas how to set my truck with warning lights tips tricks and info

I have a 98 Ram 2500hd with a 2015 18' flatbed trailer/car hauler.
I'm finding myself blocking roads a lot when reversing at customer location, and need/want some type of warning lights.

Now keep in mind this is my DD also, and it's a nice clean truck...not a beat up scrap beater. I don't want a big yellow bar light on the roof lol

Any ideas how to light it up nice so I can be seen sooner/better day or night?
Basically I'd like it to be as close to "unnoticeable" as possible for my DD.

Just figured I'd pick y'alls brains also. Thanks in advance.

P.s.....if anyone has light setups, pics would be great!

I'll have to look for the site but there's a strobe kit you can buy that turns your head and tail lights into strobe lights with the push of a button but when turned off, looks like normal - could probably work for your trailer also. Only other thing I can think of is some sort of flashing lights attached to the trailer. Other then that your last resort is a temporary light bar. Most of the new ones are magnet mounted.

I have the same problem. Backing into the drive way with parked cars on each side and blocking traffic. Thought about getting a magnetic light bar and a reverse beeper too. Im too cheap to buy the lights and beeper tho so it's just flashers, go slow and take my time. If somebody else has to wait a few seconds to get by me so be it. One thing that is nice on a trailer is LEDs. They are a lot more visible than the standard lights on my truck. Good luck and let us know what you go with.

Yea I was actually just looking at some on eBay, looks like you can buy a set of 4 for around $50
Then I was thinking about it, maybe it's too much like a undercover law enforcement vehicle if you do that? I know generally Amber or white is all that's allowed for warning lights...so back to the drawing board I guess...

Yea major problem is backing in my driveway, it's on a semi main road (2lane, 25mph)
always scared someone's gna fly around the corner n hit me as I'm straightening out!
I'd like something on the trailer too since I usually have a line behind me wondering wth I'm doing lol

I'm considering Amber strobe lights for the grill and rear of truck, but that still doesn't help from a side view I guess.... Still thinkin.

I know of a truck that had a backup alarm that was wired into a rocker switch in the cab. The switch didn't turn the alarm on; it was an enable/disable switch. That way, you wouldn't have an alarm at the Post Office (Unless you wanted one).

How about a smaller dome light on the roof? They make magnetic ones.

As for the front, could you hide some strobe lights behind the grille?

On the strobe light idea, can pull a trick out of the police book and do stobes in the head/tail lights and in the back seat windows at the top with a 3 inch or so light bar.

*I don't want the "little boon" light lol but I am looking at a low profile, clear lens, LED strobe bar. It's about a foot wide, with 240LED. Should work good for what I need and only runs just under $50 on EBay.

So I'm thinking mini bar light on roof, 4 strobes in grill, backup alarm, and somehow mounting the extra 2 strobes on rocker panel maybe?

As for the head/tail light strobes, I think they're great but I belive VA law enforcement would frown on them. Gns skip these.

Now if I could just figure out some strobe markers for the trailer too ...:lol:

As far as the trailer, how about some side marker lights with flasher mode controlled by a on/off switch in cab of truck. Just wire in a heavy duty turn signal flasher.

Not sure what kind of strobe bar you are referring to...just make sure it is visible from all around, not just front and back. --in the event you are at right angles to the street when backing your trailer...

Do you think I could just add some LED markers, like 2 on each side and wire them to the BRAKE wire on trailer? This would make it so your flashers would light them...correct?
However while typing this I realize it would also light them when hitting BRAKE...

Yes the one I'm looking at now has 360° lighting for that reason. It should be a lot better

P.S. how do I add a image in here? I'm a noob to the site n not great with computers haha

If you wire then to your blikers it will flash when you have your blinkers on which if you are using a flatbed and it is dark outside at night it would give people better visibility of the outline of the trailer

Just paint the truck a nice bright yellow.

Highly visible to oncoming traffic, and no loosing it in a parking lot.

I didn't read any of the other comments but I was looking into getting a headache rack (Most likely the "Back Rack" brand) And mounting a light bar on top of it since I'm becoming a volunteer fire fighter, maybe you could do something like that.

Haha I may do just that! Maybe next year, paints still pretty good on her.
My last wrecker was lime green just for that reason lol
I have always wanted that yellow, with all black accessories.
