Help With Engine Identification

Any help with an ID on the 4 cylinder dual distributor engine would be appreciated...Thanks. And no...no intention of scrapping.

looks like a forklift engine... but that is mainly because I see a propane regulator in the top of the picture.

No cyclinders, it's an early wankel rotary motor. Out of a Mazda of some sort I'm betting.

Need pics of the side by the spark plug, but I'm bout 100% sure.

notice the oil cap on yours matches the design on the air cleaner in the picture.

Plus the oil filter is upside down. The twin dizzys is common on the 12a rotary before 1980. Being a former rotor head, I've owned 3 rx-7's, I would bout bet anything it's a rotary.

Definitely a 12a. I dont think the early 13b had twin dizzys (correct me if im wrong)

Rotary was my first thought but when I showed my kid (into Honda's and Mitsubishi's) he didn't think so. The fact that the ole man does know a little about imports is sure to cause an eye roll.

Funny that I'm concerned about weather moving in when this has sat in the elements for years. Tomorrow I will return to pull this a several other blocks from the field.

good eye guys, I didn't put much thought into a rotary. Haven't looked at too many of them. Never interested me as a mode of regular transportation, and with how often they should be rebuilt to maintain power... I'll stick to pistons.

If you ever drove one you'd think different. It's a screamer, pulls 8000 rpm stock. Have a 1982 with a 13b swap and twin 2 bbl weber carbs, use to break lots of hearts drag racing with it. Stomped a many small block Chevys with it, onlys had to race em twice because they couldnt beleive had bad they just got beat.
