new sawsall blades

I bought these yesterday, double duty torch blades, they have hexagons on the side, the teeth are designe to give a wide kerf, and where the blade goes in the saw they have indentions stamped or pressed in them making them stronger at the breaking point, the first pic below shows a dewalt end broke off, I cut three converters off so far with one of these new blades

they look nice. How much were they?

I have seen those a few times and have been tempted to spend the extra money. Are the better than the Diablo blades? Those have served me well.

they were $17 for 5 im sure ill be able to find them cheaper online, the only diablo blades I buy are the 12in speed demons and they are really flexible compared to the Milwaukee, a different kind of blade but at the moment im going with the Milwaukee because of the indentions, cutting converters I break a lot of blades at the saw

we only use the torch blades at the shop and all we use it for is cutting exhaust on cars a blade usually lasts a week so maybe 10 cars or so, dont press to hard on them let the saw do the work and they will last quite a while

i use em. been wanting to try the new diamond cut ones that came out but they were $20 per blade

looks like less than $2 each bought in bulk or $3 each in smaller quantity

i think those are for cast iron but i won't swear to that

Not to hijack your thread but I just bought these the other day. I have found them to be pretty good but not the best.

These ones here with the gold teeth seem to last forever. I get them at a local hardware store for about 4.50 a piece. I Have cut an oil tank into 4 sections with one blade. Just thought I would mention it as the sawzall is a mighty handy scrap weapon.

don't worry about hijacking, that's what this is for, I bought some of those also several months ago and we liked them to, as far as the best I don't think there is one, I cut converters mostly, on a Chrysler minivan for example on the top I use a lenox 12in wood cutting blade weird right, but its stiff enough not to bend and its a hard cut no matter how you approach it, ive even cut the floorboard outa the car to get to it. if I use the same blade on a breadloaf it will eat through the teeth in seconds. we see this a lot and buy lots of different blades, about the only ones im sick of are dewalt. Irwin makes a good blade also

Digging up this thread in order to find some bulk blades to cut up this farm implement. Hoping these will do the job (Milwaukee Torch Blades)

I use the torch blades and really like them Although, they don't see much of the heavy duty metal you're looking at.

I use the dewalt 2x life blades. Alittle pricey (for me) but they are pretty good

I have used Torch Blades to cut 3 x 3 x 1/4 in thick material and they worked well...I kept them well oiled tho.

Try to keep the speed down and they last longer

Yes those Chrysler minivans are a serious pain, I scrapped 2 of them, to get to the convertor I removed the wiper linkage and the intake and still had a hard time. I thought about going through the floorboard as well. I'll have another one soon and dreading the job. I need a cutting torch with the 90 degree head:) Would make the job a cinch.

I bought two packs of these a few weeks ago. one of the 6" and one of the 9"

First one I went through a little too fast, and burnt up the blade.

Second blade is holding strong, making sure I don't overheat the blade. If you turn it blue, they're done for. They are a great stiff blade if you are looking to make straight cuts.




So far, I've chopped up my diesel frame from my truck with it, and cut an A arm off my quad that was bent with it. Let the blade do the work, keep it cool, they last very long and don't brake...
