Check the bottom o thelaptop for the windows license nunber. Its the long number on the sticker with the version of windows. If you get a copy of the same windows operating system as listed on that sticker you can re-install it. During the re-installation that license number will be required to complete. The way you do the re-installations is open the dvd and insert the disc and then start the computer up. It will ask you some questions and it takes some time but you learn as you go.
