    Cat Scratch Fever

    My cat was scratching up my new return on my AC so I needed to find something she can sharpen her claws on.

    Almost all the materials to make this can all be found for free. Out of pocket for this project was about $10.00 for the rope and #10 wood screws. Everything else I scrounged up.

    The basics;

    Start of the base;

    The results;

    The pipe with the first shelf. The pipe was from a retired hydroponics system I had for starting plants in the greenhouse for spring planting.;

    Starting to wrap the post here;

    Last picture I took, not finished but you get the idea;

    When the white man discovered this country Indians were running it
    no taxes, no debt, women did all the work.
    White man thought he could improve on a system like this. - Old Cherokee saying

    I did not surrender, they took my horse and made him surrender. - Lone Watie

    Nice work Joe, I'm sure the cat's going to dig it.

    I would love to make one for you Dee but shipping would be pretty costly.

    Thinking of how to make it a "some assemble required " kit.
    I am thinking of a base that is filled with water or sand. I have a couple layers of cement board for the base now for a counter balance.

    You can just make a scratching post out of a carpet tube and some rope!

    I am always impressed when someone is able to make something, idea to finished product. Very nice now design a butt scratcher for my Yorkie. She is very demanding, Mike.

    Let me look here I have a nice dog bed I made from an old futon.
    Humm no good pictures of it.

    I will take a picture of it and post it.

    All my critters are spoiled! Although you can't spoil a cat, you can only try to live up to it's expectations!

    Here it is. I have two girls so I made it two levels. They sleep together in the bottom.

    I used the metal frame of the futon to make a sports rack. It holds all my golf, fishing ,and boat gear.

    I like to take used stuff and make new things out of them.

    Does anyone on here have a pet pig. I've always wanted one. Winston Churchill loved pigs. He went to the pig sty for therapy.
    He would stare at the pigs and think. He once said, "dogs look up to you, cats look down on you....only a pig looks at you as an equal".

    I would like to have one! I would have to have a very small pig.
    They are very expensive for the tiny pigs but should I ever hear of one needing a good home I am all in!

    Will build/work for pig.

    Mr Dewgood, I was waiting for the video.........I titled it just for you.

    I would love to adopt one of those little fellers.

    I wish they would come up with a tea cup Elephant. That would be to cool!

    Or this guy,

    The title made me think you had cat scratch fever. If you have never had it, try not to get scratched it can mess you up. I had swollen glands and pain for months, nothing got rid of it. A buddies glands swelled so big in his groin he couldn't walk, and another buddy had his retinas/vision permanently affected.

    Thankfully I'm a dog person. Get bit? Get rabies? Get a shot.

    So THAT explains a large bump under my armpit.
    I showed the Doc & he said its "to do with underarm deodorant, it'll go away"

    I thought it had something to do with all the cuts & scratches from scrapping metal.....

    My cat pissed on my dehumidifier, it got onto the tiny copper tube, ate thru it & all the freon leaked out....
    I found that out when I scrapped it, so I had a look at another I was about to scrap, tested it, it worked, sweet.
