May not get that far, the seller is a gamer. Sent more pictures and has now informed me that the crane does not work. plus he bumped me another thousand.

After speaking with the seller on the telephone I have a good understanding of why the crane is not working. Since the deck hoist and the crane share the same hydraulic pump but have separate oil tanks. The hoist is working so we know the pump works, either the crane is low on hydraulic oil or the spool valve is screwed. Personally I think it's low on oil.

The spool valve is a multi port control valve with several spools, each has a function depending on which lever the operator pulls or pushes, these spools control the down riggers, direction of the swing and lift cylinders and if so equipped a hydraulic winch.

So were not completely out of the game just yet. Will keep ya all posted as events unfold.
