Some 3rd party company registered it, and now it is up for sale as a premium domain name with GoDaddy.com for $280, and I am NOT about to pay that much for a domain name. I will just register a new one for $5.

Keeping with your old name the following is available. Checked at godaddy.com

    bidandbuy4less.com

You can also remake the logo so it says "B&B 4 Less!"

    is available! Just $11.99*/yr

I have also been trying to come up with names to make it sound like a professional auction house, but one that auctions off anything and everything, all the way from .01 to a million (doubtful a million dollar item will ever be there, but never know).

2 of the names I have come up with is corbisauctions.com and caldwellauctions.com

Just nothing sounds good to me, which I am really beginning to dislike.

Years ago, I could think of a name and slogan easy and pie, and now I don't know.

I am trying to keep the name simple, easy to remember, so when people tell their family, friends, co workers, etc it will be easy for them to remember.

Coming up with a name for a website and having it being open is very hard. I was lucky with the address I have for my site.

Yeah, like gustavus mentioned, it is squatters. Which I don't see the point, as they don't put the name up for sale anywhere.

George I just found this in another thread. This was post last month! Is this a different auction site you are renaming?

I would say I'm confused but you know I'm not!

How is the investment firm doing? I would think a guy that owns so many subsidiary's you would have a staff on top of all your web sites domains.

no its the same one. my invest firm has been doing alright. I use virtual assistants periodically, and then everyone else is just contracted out.

believe it or not I don't have any full time people. I will occassionally hire people part time when I need it, but for the most part it is just me.

everything I do is not really hard and thanks to multiple software not really time consuming to a degree.

They wait until the name gets older. Older a name gets the more its worth.

So they hold on it...get more people to view the page and then they turn around and sell it for 1500 or 2grand after 2 or so years.

The confusion comes from...name was taken by someone else and put up for sale(1st quote) by squatters who just sit on them and don't put them up for sale(second quote).

Yes, it was bought from another company (I didnt know it was expired, and by the time I realized, I was out of the "redemption" period).

If the name was still available, at a price near what I paid for it, I would just re register it, but no way, will I ever pay almost $300 for a domain. Now a domain plus a website that is fully functional, and already has business or has the potential, then maybe.

    corbisauctions.com and caldwellauctions.com
    is NOT this
simple, easy to remember, so when people tell their family, friends, co workers, etc it will be easy for them to remember.
No offense, but keep on working on it. And good luck to you!

anyone got any thoughts on ixtremebid.com

I think it sounds nice. After all, people do sometimes bid extremely for items because they want them so badly.

I tried other variations for this name, but this is the only one that is available, but like I said, sounds nice, or it could be, because I am tired too lol

Only thing I could come up with was maybe lowballbid.com or lowballauction.com.

One thing you might want to do to keep from having the same issue happen with your website name is put a reminder to renew on your outlook calendar a few weeks before the current name expires. Have it a recurring reminder so that you can get reminded every year (or whatever the renewal cycle is).

I think he's referring to ixtremebid.com...that's not how you spell extreme or even a slang way of spelling it...just doesn't make sense.

I know how to spell extreme, but all I really did was take the "e" off of it is all. iextremebid.com is also available, if that helps people's opinion of it.

Also, I wasn't looking for a "slang" way of spelling it really. Just a unique way. Just like anymore, you see people always saying "x-mas" instead of "Christmas"

Makes more sense now...I wasn't reading it right. The "I" is separate as in I xtremebid.com
