So....
I was just looking through some threads for information on certification requirements and I couldn't help but notice all these Magic Voodoo, counterfeit money, and other weird non-scrap related posts.
What the heck is going on here? Is there anything I can do to help fix this issue? I love this forum and I would hate for something to happen to it because there was not enough help to keep that crap under control.
I am happy to do whatever I can do to help. Let me know.

This site isn't a joke to me. This is where I learned everything that I know and use whenever I am working scrap/E-waste jobs that I take on. Scammers and bots are everywhere these days but they don't take away the value of a site to its users. They are just an annoyance that can be managed - that's why I offered my help if it was needed.

This forum is still thriving by providing tons of information in all of the old posts. Pictures, videos, how to's, etc. etc. a lot that can't be found anywhere else and a lot provided by members that have since passed on. It just seems a shame to lose all of that ya know?

i get what you mean, the glory days of the forum were something else. but im referring to now a days. im here for scrap metal and to learn something new as many of us are but theres nothing new. no one posts anything about scrap anymore. no prices, yard runs, scrapping stories, scrap projects, break down tips, awesome scores... theres no fun and excitement here anymore.

Yes the bots and scammer are a disease everywhere that is public. The only way to get rid of them is to ignore them. Personally I got my last scam call in december last year. First I used to engage them and waste their time or play my own fanatasy on them. The poor souls. But the way I got a few months of peace is to ignore and block them. Its sad but I blocked all number coming from certain countries and rental numbers. First I still saw the daily 3-4 blocked calls, but now they've stopped trying and they informed their buddies that it's no use anymore..... I don't miss them

Yes this site might be a joke now, but it helped me make money for my family when I was unemployed for a long time. It taught me about commodities. From shred to gold, lol.
It also taught me about time management sometimes it's better to scrap a item as is verses breaking it down
Leave some meat on the bone for the next guy.
Another man's trash is another man's treasure which I sold at our yard sales or online.
And I am still a member of the cooler puller club and listen to music you scrap to.
Not a joke to me or my family.

Maybe if more people offered up their help instead writing it off as a loss in general things would be different all over too. I have never balked at the challenge of fighting for something I believe in no matter how much work it ends up being.
Just my 2 cents I guess

Hi all, stopped by to see how things were going.... I used to be fairly active and contribute content to help, but I was getting razed by a member and the activity dropped to almost nothing. I am also a bit put off by all the pop-up ads.
Anyway, I will probably drop by to see if there is any action, but if it is as dead as it was when I left, I will probably tire and drop by again in a year or so to see if the board is still even up.
