Well ... i think it would be more accurate to say that turmoil and chaos create
opportunities ... not necessarily profit. Money is all good and well, but
power is better. What you do is play both ends against the middle. Get the two sides locked in a bitter feud ... then go in and bury the survivors after the battle has ended. Divide and conquer !

It's done all the time in fishing and construction crews. You got the Captain of the boat. He's the boss. He makes sure to keep his deck hands set against one another and competing for a better position on the boat. They're so busy fighting amongst themselves ... they are never a challenge to his position of leadership & authority.
