My fingers and hands are valuable commodities and while stepping on a can while wearing boots is okay, I suspect I will be wearing tenni shoes while pedaling. I found a Trike (3 wheel bike) today that has a basket on the back. That's what I'm talking about......pedal up to can and pick it up without getting off by using the long grabber.
I'm going to have to build a can crusher hooked up to the pedals\wheels.
So I went and tested this kind of bike today.
It will NOT work. Well, first of all, the bike was too tall. But besides that.....trying to swing the leg OVER the top of the basket.....well, that's not going to work!!!

I'm still thinking a three wheeled bike like the following is the best solution:
Now try to imagine some type of "can crushing" gizmo added to this bike. I'm wondering how much power it would take to crush a can. Actually, IdahoScrapper, you might be onto something. Let's say that we carry a few large capacitors on the bike and as you pedal, you generate "charging" voltage\current that is stored in the large capacitors. Then when it reaches a certain stored energy level, it triggers the release thru a crushing motion.
