I would like to thank all for their input and advice. Once we get the truck fitted with the hitch and pull the unit back to Sarasota, I will be able to report the feel of the tow. I am thinking it will be fine as long as I use my head.
I cannot believe I was 200 pds. off on my guess of the trailer weight. In all seriousness using a fifth wheel hitch will make it easier than using a bumper hitch. With a bumper hitch sway bars help, but are not the cure all. I will be interested in how your set up tows. It is assumed you have a V-8 in the truck so it will be interesting to know if that is enough power and what mileage you will get towing the trailer.
