It can be if you get the cars for free or near free. If you have a way to get rid of the stuff like plastic, glass & padding for free or near free.
If you can part it out & get 'Better than scrapmetal $$' for individual parts.
For the nonferrous metals, Aluminium was a earner, but thats now 1/2 the price that it was.
Copper/Brass radiators are not as common as they once were, even in the heater
cores.
Steels not worth as much as it once was either.
But if you can sell the glass windscreen, windows, starter, motor, trans, computer, alternator, power steering unit, diff/driveshaft/suspension, interior or such, it can sometimes only take a few parts to pay for it. The rest is profit, and a lot of energy in a dirty job.
Anybody got a 8D0927156H transmission computer from a 1997 Audi A4 B5 2.8 auto Quattro, or VW Passat?
I have earmarked NZ$200 ( US$140 ) for it.
