He does seem a little upset >> At least he was 3 years ago when he made the video >> Feb 11, 2014
and he may NOT have done it on purpose BUT on the older wheel meters a magnet in the correct place WILL reduce the speed of the wheel and hence reduce the electric bill

A common method of tampering with electric meters is by attaching magnets to the outside of the meter. These magnets prevent the alternating current from forming eddy currents in the rotor, by saturating the coils or current transformers.
Quoted from >> Tampering And Security In Electric Meters Discussed By Experts

The new improved digital meters are supposed to be built so a magnet will not affect it
"Meters should offer compliance to requirements of CBIP-304 and its amendments for tampering using external magnets. The meter should be immune to tamper using external magnets. The meters should be immune to 0.2T of A.C. magnetic fields and 0.5 T of D.C. magnetic fields, beyond which it should record as tamper if not immune."
The above statement is a requirement during the manufacturing of digital energy meter. Hence we shall assume that digital meters are tamper proof using Magnets.
Taken from >> What happen if we put a magnet near digital energy meter?

I wonder if they cut him any slack on the $350 that they billed him? I guess he learned a lesson where to hang his magnet....!!!

I can't say much for or against the guy's state of mind, but the words I have to say about Oncor would be censored & likely get me permanently banned from this forum.

I'll try & tell the story without using any expletives:

Short story long, their billing department and/or their operations department messed up and decided that my address was the one that was a couple thousand bucks behind on our electricity bill. So, the guy cut the lock on my back gate, let all three of my pitbulls out, and disabled our meter, shutting off the electricity to the house. We got a $500 fine from the city for our dogs, and it was three days for us to get power back on. Thankfully we were able to box our refrigerated/frozen food up in coolers to take to my mother-in-law's house.

Three months later, I came home, and we had no power.

Investigating the issue, I saw that our power line coming in from the street had been dug up & cut since apparently the guy they sent out this time couldn't cut the new chain & lock I had installed on my gate to replace the one they'd cut the last time, plus another dog we'd gotten in the interim was a bit more convincing in requesting that trespassers not enter his yard.

So we called them, and it turns out they were showing our account in arrears for not paying the reconnect fee from the disconnection that was their dadgum (sorry... I really wanna cuss right now) mistake in the first place. They said it would be another three days before we would have our juice turned back on. I explained to the supervisor of the supervisor of the agent that I originally spoke with that I had just done some work on the home of the channel 4 investigative reporter that does the exposes on shady companies & other nefarious schemers. A crew showed up within the hour to reconnect us.

[TL/DR] Oncor can die in a fire.
