    Thanks RLS0812 for the vid!! I probably should have eaten a lot more mrat than I have. To me it tastes a lot like non-mallard wild duck so if you're into that flavor, then mrats are pretty good. I'll occasionally take the back legs off of a fewer larger ones that I catch and cook them up. If I was protein limited and/or really trying to stretch a buck, I'd be cleaning them all up like those guys did. Muskrat is another very common urban-metro water animal that is easy to catch. Some states allow "colony" traps which basically look like a wire fish trap open on both ends. For some reason mrats usually can't figure out how to get out of them and drown. Place in pinch points, such as culverts, between water bodies, and you might clean up. No danger to people or pets unless you have a pet mink you have out swimming around.
