    Brokerage

I once had a company in Edmonton that I named Triangle Salvage one day inadventanly became a broker when I asked the foundry CEO if others could bring in scrap under my business name.

Lou said sure, your the broker but we wont pay them that's up to you.

So thats how I became a broker, soon had a dozen small time scrappers hauling cast iron into the foundry that otherwsie would not have dealt with them on personal level. Since the foundry was paying double that of the scrap yard I was able to pay these independants a fair price with margin to make a profit for my company.

For obvious resons the large yards do not advertise brokerage services, so you have to ask it they'll provide it.

Also you may find firms that specialise in brokerage services that provide a comprehensive package, obvioisly they're not goimg to be interested in small loads but for those of you that are able to marshal material for full loads this could be a bonanza.

Yes even you can ship to a cast iron or aluminum foundry via the broker.

As an independant back in BC my favourit yard provided brokerage, chargeing me a few dollars per ton for scrap I shipped to Tacoma Washington.

Don't let the world pass you by when there's opertunity out there grab it.
