Ask the people at Virginia Tech if that is true. Or the people at the McDonalds down on the U.S.-Mexican border back in the late 80s or wherever there are larger groups of people who have become victims because no one was armed except the police (who weren't there). And it doesn't really matter if the loser has a large capacity mag or not. I could do the same thing with my plain jane pump 12 gauge that holds 6 rounds. Shooting heavy goose shot or buck shot, I could probably rack up a substantial body count before the cops arrived (just keep putting rounds into the tube without it going dry). Only when 2 things happen in the U.S. will such mass shootings stop: 1) when the media stops naming the killers (never give their names to the public and there is no sick "glory"-- the mass murderer in KC that strangled people is rotting in prison for life and as part of his punishment he's never allowed to watch tv news or read news print). And 2) if such demented losers (who are the ultimate sick twisted bullies) knew that their chances of pulling off a large body count was nearly zero because there was enough armed upright citizens in any crowd, the trend would go way down or at least there wouldn't be high body counts. This may be cold but I think its the truth. I own a dozen firearms or more, have freely carried them around in cars often for almost 40 years, can carry a concealed pistol if I desire (usually not) and have never had to use one against someone or have hurt myself or family or friends. South Dakota has never had a mass shooting that I know of. Don't know if a good number of people carrying concealed would stop it fairly quickly or not but I hope it would...
