    Thanks Burt for that site - how disappointing that my Canadian coins from 1980-1989 are all bronze mix. Still nice to know what their made of, and now I know which coins to look for/take to a smelter.

    Logansryche, how can you take legal tender to a smelter legally? We've stopped using pennies but we still can't destroy them, they have to be spent or turned into the bank at face value.
