Side project restoring an old house to make a couple bucks gone wrong!

I bought a 100+ year old house a month and a half back for a steal. Or so I thought so! New roof recently, foundation is sound, needed some light electrical and plumbing. While tearing out some drywall in a closet i heard some movement nothing loud I figured a squirrel possibly made its way in some how. So I opened the door so the critter could run outside. After ripping the drywall down I had a shock! I trapped him in a havaheart trap overnight in the house and relocated him and sealed his front door.

Q: Why did the raccoon remember the Alamos?
A: Because Davy Crocket had a coon skin hat.

THey make a 55gal poly barrel full of water for those traps. Just drop in and come back in ten minutes empty trap.

In my area it is illegal to relocate due to the spread of rabies in raccoons. In the winter raccoon pelts can be sold.

Well, considering the racoon posed for a photo I'm fairly confident it did NOT have rabies. I have had encounters with rabid racoons before, they charge at you! Regardless, in the city where the house is located they have a program where they pick them up and charge you a $75 fee! If I were to "dispose" of it, it would be quick and painless the same way I would hunt a deer.
