At the price of new tires now, if you get some GOOD used tires, you shouldn't have any problem selling them.
If you don't want to mess with that, try to make friends with a local tire dealer, and see if he will swap tires for labor and get him to pull the old tires off the rims for you.
It is well worth it, especially when you get AL rims.
