    Sorry you had what sounds like a very scary experience. I also learned about first aid kits awhile back while trying to do what I could at a bad accident. Yes your average first aid kit is just about useless at a bad accident. Band Aides are ok for the little cuts we get, but in a serious accident your going to need a lot of sterile large gauze pads. One time is all it took for me to rethink and restock the first aid kit.
