NHscrapman thanks for refreshing my memory, that's correct as we were heading to a party in Mass. we stopped to get the real stuff. As I recall it would not be as cheap as N. H. state operated liquor store. My memory was it was a fairly large store, with a large selection of alcohol and operated by the state. Been in most of the country and don't recall anyplace else where the state sold the good stuff! That's probably a good way in a small state.

Absolutely right bigburtchino liquor, lottery sales pretty much keep the state running and the ones closest to the borders due really well the stores on the highway are very large in NH terms lol. Although the ones in towns are usually leased buildings more like a convenience store.

Jilly it's not regulated just monopolized so the state can receive funding in place of a sales tax.

too add: had some beers with a neighbor yesterday he was drinking Smithwicks Irish red Ale, hoppy with a nice finish a must try
There ain't nothing wrong with an honest days work. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.- Old Man

I recently found a local brew that I really enjoyed called Revolver Blood & Honey. It's from a brewery south of Ft. Worth. Luckily Whole Foods around here carry it so I pick up a 6 pack once in a while.

Yup, its everywhere you go around here. Every season theres a new seasonal brew they make that takes up an aisle end at the kroger. I don't mind shiner, some of them are ok.
