Years ago when I raced gokarts, we had a young man that his dad built him a drag racing kart with a 600 Suzi and the transmission.
Made it a little longer than a standard kart, ran 9"slicks on the rear and did exhibitions at the drag strips around the midwest.

Later his dad built a bigger one that ran a 1000 Kaw. He'd smoke the slicks half way down the quarter mile. He used to run the motors on alky.
The drag strips would pay a few hundred for the exhibition runs, that's how him and his dad made a little extra money on the weekends and had bonding time together (getting paid to bond with your dad-nothing better).
