I use a local consognment shop for any clothes that are in good condition and there are also a few furniture consignment shops around but I havent tried them. My clothes sold well but the problen with consignment is they usually take about 50%...at least thats how it is around here

When I was putting my lab together, I ended up finding slate pool tables, too them apart and used the slate as counter tops for my lab tables. They work awesome, resistant to acid and heat, etc etc etc.

At the heart of science is an essential balance between two seemingly contradictory attitudes--an openness to new ideas, no matter how bizarre or counterintuitive they may be, and the most ruthless skeptical scrutiny of all ideas, old and new. This is how deep truths are winnowed from deep nonsense. -- Carl Sagan

My thoughts on the percentage that consignment shops take...What's the complaint? This is found money. When you add up what it would cost you in time and money to market the items you want to sell. Any time I can take an item and sell it through someone else's efforts, I figure they earned their portion. And I got a payday without any further effort.
