I really miss the "chicken shacks" down in southeast Kansas. That had to be some of the best fried chicken around. Chicken Annie's and Chicken Mary's and they looked like a big pole barn put up out in the country, neither one on a state road but everyone knew where they were. You would order an order of onion rings and they brought them out on a platter, you always took some home.
