40 wasn't too bad, but the next year turning 41 was the tough one. Now I'm in my forties. Actually mid-forties now. Pretty soon it will be late forties.
When I was young, I figured I would get to the top of the mountain and stay there for a while before leisurely starting down the other side. No one told me the $%^&*ing mountain started collapsing under you once you got to the top or that the trip down the other side is a barely-controlled tumble off a cliff.
