    Electric Wheelchair

Hello, just wondering if any of you have ever sold a used electric wheelchair? I was given a Quantum 610 electric wheelchair a couple of weeks ago. It is in good condition, but needs a battery! I have tried selling on CL ( Not 1 phone call yet!) I have called medical supply companies ( no luck either). I did find one company online out of Florida that said they would pay up to 10 percent of what it cost NEW. However, they then charge $300.00 - $ 500.00 for shipping ( So this doesn't work either ). Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, and Hope All Had A Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Buy a battery then raise the price or leave as is and lower the price. Most people that are in the market for a wheelchair are not capable of making repairs and may not have someone that can either.

Just a thought. If you don't need the money on this one maybe you could donate it to a charitable organization. Lots of disabled vets out there that could really use it I'd imagine. If you do need the money and having that much trouble getting rid of I'd say just scrap it.

I was thinking the same thing...donate it. My buddy is a para and he would not really have a life without his. You will also get the tax deduction on the donation...several $K I would think. If you need the cash then part it out. The motors, the switch assembly the rams...they are all parts that need constant attention.

I agree that donating is most likely the best way to go. I would guess that 99.99% of all these wheel chairs are paid for by the federal government. So if that is true there are few costomers willing to pull any money out of their pockets to one. I would not spend the money on a new battery with out a likely customer on hand, Mike.

If you dont need th money call your local DAV. You can find a local chapter by going to the website www.dav.org Im sure they would love the donation.

I've got a couple myself. Probably going to use parts for some sort of powered garden machine. I see the motors and gearboxes, controllers, wheels etc. going for good prices on ebay.

These things are like trying to sell a used walker or used crutches. Why would someone buy a used wheel chair when medicare and insurance will pay for a new one. Just my .02
